In May 2013 we officially unveiled the first 5 of our Loggerheads - tree trunks that have been carved and painted into life sized statues. The theme of the Loggerheads is famous Tasmanians. We commissioned Tasmanian artist Julian Bale to create the sculptures and the result is fantastic, and they're dotted around the property.


David Foster OAM is a world champion woodchopper, not just once - but for 21 years straight. He is the first person in sporting history to have won 1,000 championships. Not only that, he actively supports many cultural, charitable and community activities. Find out more about David at his website.

Errol Flynn was born in Hobart in 1909 and went on to be a Hollywood star. He was noted for his swashbuckling roles, particularly as Robin Hood. Minister for Tourism, Scott Bacon, unveiled his Loggerhead. Find out more.

Shane Gould MBE lives in Bicheno and won 3 gold medals, a silver and a bronze in the pool at the 1972 Munich Olympics. She is the only person to hold every freestyle record from 100m to 1,500 m and the 200 individual medley simultaneously.

Shane has continued her involvement in swimming through her elite training programs, competition in Masters events and organising ocean swim events. Shane's website is here.

Bob Brown is a legend of the Australian Greens movement, serving 26 years in Tasmanian and Federal parliaments. He retired from politics in 2012, and now heads the Bob Brown Foundation, which aims to help front-line environmentalists.

Ricky Ponting AO recently retired from Test Cricket and was Australia's Captain from 2004 to 2010, and is widely regarded as one of the best batsmen in the modern era. His fielding ability was similarly outstanding, especially in close to the bat. Ricky established the Ponting Foundation to help young Australians beat cancer.
